This Pillischer International was one of the worst microscopes I have ever dealt with. It had been spray painted in a copper colour. Whoever spray painted it did at least take the eyepiece and objective off before they attacked it. They also removed the larger screws.
I had to be quite aggressive when polishing this microscope, which is something I usually try to avoid, as the spray paint had etched the surface of the metal.
The microscope needed new stage clips and the stage was chemically blackened. It was lacquered with quite a bright, sunny yellow.
