This Culpepper style Dollond microscope needed relaquering, it also needed a new rack because the old one was missing some teeth. The screws which attach it to the wooden base were re-blued and the engraving was refilled with black wax.
The cast brass pieces of this microscope were very brittle and care had to be taken when taking it apart and reassembling it.
