This little Nachet was so corroded that the draw tube was welded in place. It took several days and some innovative techniques to get the tube out before polishing. As well as being relacquered, the original screws were polished and blued.
Lacquering the objectives was a very delicate business, they are extremely small and it’s important not to inadvertently scratch the lens.
